How anyone thinks hunting and killing these majestic animals is "sport" is unfathomable. #RIPCecil #Pride pic.twitter.com/rm0dGDZhl5

(From Margy Rochlin's article in MORE MAGAZINE)

"I think I'm goofier now" [said Gellar]. She points to that morning, when a bomb scare in the building across the street prompted an evacuation that interrupted the More photo shoot. Upon hearing the news, the Gellar of yesteryear would probably have placed a follow-up call to 911, quickly sketched out an escape route on the back of a napkin, then led everyone to safety. The new SMG? She decided it was cocktail time. "I was like, 'Let’s go have Bloody Marys!' I would never have said that—even when I was 22!"

"(Horror) is a genre where women really get great opportunities, and where also some of our most famous women seem to keep flocking to. The obvious is Naomi Watts in The Ring. But then you think about Halle Berry; after she won the Oscar, she made Gothika. Or Charlize Theron; her first choice after she won the Oscar was Aeon Flux. Or Gwyneth Paltrow's biggest success lately has been Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. Why is that? That's because that's where women really get to flourish. I don't know why that is, I don't know why women superhero movies don't seem to do as well as women thrillers. Comedies just make more money when it's Adam Sandler than if it's a female. It's just the way the moviemaking business seems to go. But I don't know why."

"I have good friends, gay couples, who've been together for 18 years. It drives me crazy that in the eyes of the law, their love isn't acknowledged when I have girlfriends who have married four times by the age of 25."

"I'm Sarah Gellar and I'm 5'3" but working on more height. I was born on April 14, 1977 and I've lived in Manhattan all my life. . .well I lived in L.A. for about a year and I loved it! I was a figure skater and I took competitive Tae Kwon Do. I was two belts away from my black belt, and I came in fourth place in a competition. But what I really wanted to do was acting and that took up too much of my time. . .so I gave up the other stuff."

"I had to twist his [Freddie's] arm and leg to see Moulin Rouge! Although he enjoyed it once we were there. In fact, there was a moment during the evening when I swear I thought he was going to leave me for Nicole Kidman but then, who could blame him? I'd probably leave him for Nicole if she asked. She's hot!"

A couple of years ago, Entertainment Weekly asked Sarah Michelle Gellar to name ten classic male TV characters she wished she could play. This is her list:

  1. Gunther, Friends
REASON: "I just love the story: There was this actor, James Michael Tyler, who was in the background and everyone liked him, and they kept him around."
  2. Eric Cartman, South Park
REASON: "No one gets better lines on television than Cartman. Nobody."
  3. Samantha Jones, Sex and the City
REASON: "She crosses all gender lines."
  4. Hank Moody, Californication
REASON: "If I was a man, I'd want to make out with as many hot chicks as David Duchovny gets to make out with."
  5. Thomas Sullivan Magnum, Magnum PI
REASON: "Just because it's Tom Selleck. I'd be anything Tom Selleck."
  6. Sonny Crockett, Miami Vice
REASON: "I also wanted to have a pet alligator."
  7. Ricky Stratton, Silver Spoons
REASON: "He used to ride that little train around his huge house. I wanted that train when I was a kid."
  8. Dexter Morgan, Dexter
    REASON: None.
  9. J.R. Ewing, Dallas
    REASON: None.
  10. Alex P. Keaton, Family Ties
    REASON: none

Sarah Michelle Gellar made her second ever Comic Con appearance at Comic-Con 2011 to unveil RINGER. At the session with Gellar were Nestor Carbonell, Ioan Gruffudd, Kristoffer Polaha, Executive Producer Pam Veasey, and Co-Executive Producers Nicole Snyder and Eric Charmelo. Gellar told the Hollywood Reporter that:

"I always say to actresses, if you haven't been - this is going to sound really funny - but get a mask and take a look around. I'm serious. You get rushed into your panel and you come out of the backside, and you never actually see the main hall. It's pretty amazing."

And about weaponry:

"I got a gun (in the Ringer pilot) and Buffy never got to shoot a gun. But yesterday I had a skillsaw and that thing I did not like. I never want to use that thing again. Ever."
