CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS is now available for PS3 and Windows PC. Cast includes Sarah Michelle Gellar, Robert Englund, Michael Rooker and Danny Trejo. Specifically, Gellar is in The Call of the Dead zombie level which, with four all new multiplayer maps make up the second content pack, Escalation. It is also on Xbox LIVE. The Call of the Dead storyline is inspired by horror writer and director George A. Romero, who also stars as himself. Gellar has never before been involved directly in a video game, although games have been made of a few of her films and several games have sprung from Buffy. At one point she owned the film rights to American McGee's Alice, but apparently is no longer involved with that project.

RINGER - WHAT IS KNOWN SO FAR

While Bridget Kelly was stripping in Bodaway Macawi's club in Rock Springs, Wyoming, she saw him murder someone. Rather than risking her life by testifying against Macawi, Bridget fled to New York and sought help from her estranged twin sister Siobhan.

The trouble between the sisters stems from an event that occured when they lived in Nevada. It somehow involves Sean, possibly a child of Siobhan.

Siobhan faked her own death, shortly after Bridget's arrival in New York. Believing Siobhan drowned, Bridget assumed her sister's identity to throw the FBI and Macawi off her trail.

Siobhan was having an affair with her best friend Gemma's husband Henry for about a year. She is pregnant with his child. She and her husband Andrew Martin became lovers while he was still married to his first wife. Andrew has a seventeen year old daughter Juliet who has, up until episode 5, hated Siobhan for that reason.

Bridget is a recovering addict, and regularly attends Narcotics Anonymous meetings. Her sponsor was Malcolm Howard in Wyoming, but Macawi tortured him to find out Bridget's whereabouts. Unable to reach Malcolm, Bridget found a new sponsor in New York named Charlie. Charlie turned out to be working for Siobhan, although Bridget does not know this. Malcolm escaped from Macawi's men and is now in New York City.

Siobhan found out she is pregnant while in Paris, and is involved in something dangerous. Someone has tried to kill Bridget thinking she is Siobhan. When Bridget shot and killed that someone, another unknown person disposed of the body for her. Siobhan is sleeping with someone who is employed by her husband's company either directly or indirectly. This seems to have been intentional.

Andrew Martin runs a hedge fund.

Siobhan had something to do with Gemma Butler's disappearance.

Bridget's new sponsor at NA, Charlie, is the guy who abducted Gemma. He has been in contact with Siobhan.

Gemma is dead. Charlie is dead. Amber Benson's character Mary Curtis is dead.

Siobhan is in New York City, probably temporarily.

Juliet is spreading a rumour that Mr. Carpenter raped her. This may or may not be true.

    Gellar reading to children

Gellar at Nestle's Joy Of Reading

Sarah Michelle Gellar has teamed up with THE NESTLE SHARE THE JOY OF READING PROGRAM to raise awareness about the importance of children's literacy. She had this to say about the program: "As a mother and avid reader, I am excited to be participating in 'The Nestle Share the Joy of Reading Program' to benefit READING IS FUNDAMENTAL. Reading has had an enormous, positive impact on my life and I encourage people to support organizations such as RIF that work to ignite a child's hunger for knowledge and inspire imagination."

Sarah Michelle Gellar made her second ever appearance at Comic-Con 2011 to unveil RINGER. At the session with Gellar were Nestor Carbonell, Ioan Gruffudd, Kristoffer Polaha, Executive Producer Pam Veasey, and Co-Executive Producers Nicole Snyder and Eric Charmelo. Gellar told the Hollywood Reporter that:

"I always say to actresses, if you haven't been - this is going to sound really funny - but get a mask and take a look around. I'm serious. You get rushed into your panel and you come out of the backside, and you never actually see the main hall. It's pretty amazing."

    And about weaponry:

"I got a gun (in the Ringer pilot) and Buffy never got to shoot a gun. But yesterday I had a skillsaw and that thing I did not like. I never want to use that thing again. Ever."

    QUOTES FROM SARAH

    TO TEEN PARTY MAGAZINE (1992)

"I'm Sarah Gellar and I'm 5'3" but working on more height. I was born on April 14, 1977 and I've lived in Manhattan all my life. . .well I lived in L.A. for about a year and I loved it! I was a figure skater and I took competitive Tae Kwon Do. I was two belts away from my black belt, and I came in fourth place in a competition. But what I really wanted to do was acting and that took up too much of my time. . .so I gave up the other stuff."

    ON HORROR FILMS (2004)

"(Horror) is a genre where women really get great opportunities, and where also some of our most famous women seem to keep flocking to. The obvious is Naomi Watts in The Ring. But then you think about Halle Berry; after she won the Oscar, she made Gothika. Or Charlize Theron; her first choice after she won the Oscar was Aeon Flux. Or Gwyneth Paltrow's biggest success lately has been Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. Why is that? That's because that's where women really get to flourish. I don't know why that is, I don't know why women superhero movies don't seem to do as well as women thrillers. Comedies just make more money when it's Adam Sandler than if it's a female. It's just the way the moviemaking business seems to go. But I don't know why."

    ON GAY MARRIAGE (2008)

"I have good friends, gay couples, who've been together for 18 years. It drives me crazy that in the eyes of the law, their love isn't acknowledged when I have girlfriends who have married four times by the age of 25."

    SARAH AND CHARLOTTE

Sarah and Charlotte on the set of RINGER on Charlotte's 2nd birthday

A couple of years ago, Entertainment Weekly asked Sarah Michelle Gellar to name ten classic male TV characters she wished she could play. This is her list:

    • Gunther, Friends
REASON: "I just love the story: There was this actor, James Michael Tyler, who was in the background and everyone liked him, and they kept him around."
    • Eric Cartman, South Park
REASON: "No one gets better lines on television than Cartman. Nobody."
    • Samantha Jones, Sex and the City
REASON: "She crosses all gender lines."
    • Hank Moody, Californication
REASON: "If I was a man, I’d want to make out with as many hot chicks as David Duchovny gets to make out with."
    • Thomas Sullivan Magnum, Magnum PI
REASON: "Just because it’s Tom Selleck. I’d be anything Tom Selleck."
    • Sonny Crockett, Miami Vice
REASON: "I also wanted to have a pet alligator."
    • Ricky Stratton, Silver Spoons
REASON: "He used to ride that little train around his huge house. I wanted that train when I was a kid."
    • Dexter Morgan, Dexter
      REASON: None.
    • J.R. Ewing, Dallas
      REASON: None.
    • Alex P. Keaton, Family Ties
      REASON: none

    GELLAR'S BIKE

Sarah Michelle Gellar's bike - the electra townie 3

Gellar rides an Electra Townie 3 bike, pink with Hello Kitty tires. The bike offers a low center of gravity for full leg extension, which increases comfort and pedaling torque. Also this means the rider's feet are able to rest flat on the ground. The platform pedals make it theoretically possible to ride in heels, and it has a full-length chainguard to keep dirt and oil off the rider's legs.

    GELLAR'S TATTOOS

According to VANISHINGTATTOO.COM, Gellar's tattoos consist of the following: She has a scripted Chinese tattoo with blossoms on her ankle which is a Chinese symbol for integrity. On her left hip are images of the Celtic alphabet. On her ankle she has a heart pierced with a dagger. On her back she has 2 dragonflies.

Botiques.com now has a Sarah Michelle Gellar Botique, from which one can purchase the sort of things Gellar might wear. Her style is described as "casual chic, boho".

She was replaced by Amanda Peet and the character renamed Ranger. The film was released 13 January 2010 with the new title: QUANTUM QUEST: A CASSINI SPACE ODYSSEY.

An average of $50,423,435. For purposes of comparison, Reese Witherspoon in her 21 films has averaged $38,432,677, and Jessica Alba in her 13 films has averaged $49,103,883.

    RINGER

    • Episode 11, now due to air 31 January, is titled It Just Got Normal. Gellar sports a new hairdo, and Zoey Deutch a new party dress. No episode summary is thus far available. Also appearing in Episode 11 will be Adriano Aragon, reprising his role as French concierge, and James Madio as someone named Sketch. Madio was Frank Perconte in HBO's 2001 mini-series BAND OF BROTHERS.
    • Juliet (Zoey Deutch) - RINGER Episode 11 Sarah Michelle Gellar with new hairdo in Ringer, Episode 11
    • Mädchen Amick will play Greer Sheridan, a "socialite" and estranged friend of Siobhan. Amick, whose first TV role was the teenaged form of Anya in the STTNG episode "The Dauphin" in 1989, will make her first appearance in episode 11. Remember that the Kelly twins are from the area of Reno, Nevada? Amick was born in Reno.
    • Madchen Amick recently (left) and as young Anya (right)
    • Brody Hutzler, who was Landokmar in five episodes of ANGEL, made his first RINGER appearance (uncredited) in Episode 10. He plays the husband of Greer Sheridan (Mädchen Amick). His first credited appearance will be in Episode 11.
    • Brody Hutzler (right) as Landokmar in ANGEL
    • The part of Tim Arbogast, Gemma's father, will be played by Gregory Harrison. The character will first appear in Episode 13.
    • According to Eric Charmelo, the parents of the Kelly twins will appear in RINGER's first season in flashbacks. The roles have yet to be cast.
    • There is a rumour that ProSieben Sat1 Media has purchased the German broadcast rights to RINGER. The projected broadcast date is sometime in the spring of 2012. It is not yet known on which channel it will be aired.
    • Misha Collins in CHARMED (with Alyssa Milano)
    • Misha Collins will guest star in Episode 14 as Dylan, someone the Kelly twins knew when they lived in the Reno, NV area some years previously. Dylan is somehow involved in the incident that caused the twins' estrangement. Collins starred in the dreadful 2010 Syfy movie STONEHENGE APOCALYPSE. He was also Eric Bragg in Episode 30 of CHARMED back in 1999.
    • Matthew del Negro (Charmaine's fiancé in season one of THE UNITED STATES OF TARA), has been cast as FBI Agent Grady Torrance, newly assigned to the Kelly case. Indications are that Agent Machado will not like him much. He will not, according to Entertainment Weekly, appear until the 6 March episode.
    • Matthew del Negro as Giovanni Gilberti, the mechanic infatuated with Dr. Maura Isles James Madio
    • Episode 10 marked the end of the first half of RINGER Season 1. Amber Benson guest-starred as Mary Curtis, a stripper who was also an informant for Agent Machado (Nestor Carbonell). Her appearance was brief. @amber_benson tweeted on 29 November that "Yes, you must watch @RingerCW tonight in order to see my non-existent skirt...very Bridget Jones-y of me, having a skirt off sick, that is.", but the non-existent skirt was disappointingly not apparent in this episode. Perhaps in another flashback at a later time.
    • Siobhan demonstrated great committment to whatever the hell she is doing by incurring a self-inflicted black eye. She whacks herself with a medicine cabinet door. Problem is, the door opens from the right side, and one would expect her right eye to be bruised.
    • Sarah Michelle Gellar as Siobhan Martin (the real one) sporting a black eye Amber Benson as Mary Curtis, Wyoming stripper
    • The names of Sarah Michelle Gellar's characters in RINGER, Siobhan and Bridget, are both Irish names, and both are variants of the name Joan, which translates as "God is good". Siobhan's nickname is "Shiv".
    • Meagan Holder appeared in Episode 9 as Claudine, an employee of Andrew and Olivia. The receptionist in the office of Dr. Anabel Morris, was played by Ginger Williams. Williams had a small part in the Buffy episode "Becoming - Part 1". She was also Clorissa in Cruel Intentions.
    • Merle Dandridge Ginger Williams as Clorissa in CRUEL INTENTIONS Ginger Williams as the receptionist in the office of Dr. Morris
    • Dr. Morris was played by Merle Dandridge who was Lacey Shepard in the ANGEL episode "Home".
    • Siobhan's phone in New York was a NOKIA E71 with the name Nokia blocked out. As of episode 8, Bridget (pretending to be Siobhan) has a new phone, and it seems to be a Samsung Galaxy.
    • Bridget's new phone (left) and the old Nokia (right) Meagan Holder
    • I really don't try to find ex-vampires in RINGER. They just keep turning up. Emily C. Chang, credited as Reporter #1 in Episode 7, did an ad for TRUE BLOOD, a show in which, near as I can tell, she has never appeared.
    • Adobe Flash Player is required to view this content.

    • From Episode 6 of RINGER. Bridget tucks in Juliet at the very beginning of the episode. Bodaway Macawi (Zahn McClarnon) favours Agent Machado (Nestor Carbonell) with an evil grin.
    • Bridget tucks in Juliet Bodaway Macawi's evil grin.
    • Some interesting things from Episode 5. Juliet (Zoey Deutch) scrawled WHORE across the giant Siobhan portrait in the entranceway. Apparently it is washable. The restoration of the portrait at the end of the episode is highly symbolic. Gemma goes mad, much like Black Willow in Buffy, but without the superpowers. There is an extraordinary performance from Zoey Deutch. Whoever's idea it was to recast this part and give it to Deutch is looking like a genius and must be feeling very pleased with himself right now.
    • Gage Golightly, who turned 18 on 5 September, has a recurring role as Tessa Banner, a "tough student" at Juliet's high school. She has been playing Hayley Steele in THE TROOP on Nickolodeon.
    • Nicole Anderson has also joined the cast. Her character's name will be Monica. Anderson was Kelly Parker in 12 episodes of MAKE IT OR BREAK IT on ABC Family. She is also in the film RED LINE, due out later this year, and another film, LUKEWARM, due out next year.
    • Nicole Anderson Gage Golightly as Tess Jason Dohring as Mr. Carpenter
    • Jason Dohring will play Mr. Carpenter, a teacher who takes it upon himself to help Juliet (Zoey Deutch), whose drug problems surface early in the series. Dohring was vampire Josef Kostan in the short-lived series MOONLIGHT. In real life, Dohring has twin sisters and twin brothers.
    • Keong Sim was supposed to guest star as Mr. Lee in Ep 4, but I couldn't find him. Below are some pictures from that episode. The young Kelly twins were portrayed by Amanda and Rachel Pace. The Pace twins last appeared on TV at the end of the last season of WEEDS as Shayla and Taylor.
    • Amanda and Rachel Pace as the young Kelly twins Jaime Murray as Andrew Martin's business partner Olivia
    • Jaime Murray, who was H.G.Wells on WAREHOUSE 13, is Olivia Charles, Andrew Martin's business partner, and the character may be around for a while.
    • From the second episode. John Paul Karilak, who wrote and preformed the one act play DONNA/MADONNA, was the party planner. And the two women at the party with whom Shivette converses at length (and from whom she learns that Siobhan uses botox) are Elizabeth Ann Roberts (Sheila Weaver in WHITE MEN CAN’T DANCE) and Kristen Kerr ( Herja in the Asylum version of ALMIGHTY THOR). Darryl Stephens (Noah of NOAH'S ARC) was fashion designer Gregor. Justin Bruening, who from 2003-2007 was Jaimie Martin on ALL MY CHILDREN, is Tyler, whom Siobhan meets in Paris and almost sleeps with. Tyler will be a recurring character. Bruening also was Steve Trevor in NBC's recently rejected Wonder Woman pilot.
    • Billy Miller Siobhan the ambulatory corpse in Bridget's dream sequence
    • Billy Miller, who used to be Richie Novak on ALL MY CHILDREN and is currently Billy Abbott on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, played Charlie. Charlie met Bridget at a Narcotics Anonymous meeting and offered to be her sponsor when Malcolm Howard (Mike Colter), is taken out of the picture by Macawi. Charlie was shot dead by Siobhan after he killed Gemma in Episode 10.
    • Kristoffer Polaha had this (in part) to say about his role as Henry Butler in RINGER:
"I play a character named Henry Butler...Henry is a writer, born in Manhattan, and came to early fame as a writer, but hasn't really followed it up with anything. So when we meet him in the pilot he is an unsuccessful writer. He has little interest in the aristocracy of Manhattan but the woman he's married to is infatuated with it and has worked her way into the lifestyles of the rich and famous, Making Henry even more miserable."
    • Polaha, was Dylan in ANGEL ("Billy" Season 3 Episode 6).
    • Nestor Carbonell Kristoffer Polaha (right) as Dylan in ANGEL.
    • In the original trailer, Siobhan Martin's drivers license gives Siobhan's address clearly and uses Gellar's height, eye colour, and birthdate. By the time episode one aired the date on the license had been changed to 30 September 1979. Interestingly enough, the license is scheduled to be renewed on 14 April. In New York, drivers licenses are renewed on the birthdate of the driver. Rock Springs, where Bridget Kelly lived, is a real place and is about 320 kilometers east of Salt Lake City, Utah along I-80. The zip code on her drivers license is correct, but there is no Sage St in Rock Springs. The return address on the envelope (pictured below) belongs to Siobhan, but the suite number is incorrect.
    • Siobhan's New York driver's license as shown in the original tralier Envelope addressed to Bridget Kelly in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Return address belongs to Siobhan, but the suite number is incorrect.
    • Rumour has it that Siobhan has a housekeeper (who is suspicious about the changes in her employer). This character has not yet turned up.
    • Lisa Kudrow
    • Gellar told TV Guide that she had some inspiration for playing twins from David Schwimmer and Lisa Kudrow on FRIENDS. "Ross and Russ — Rachel's new boyfriend — were just genius," said Gellar. "And of course no one did twins better than Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe and Ursula."
    • MICHELLE STAFFORD AS PEGGY LEWIS
    • Michelle Stafford as Peggy Lewis Michelle Stafford as the Corporate Slayer
    • Michelle Stafford described her character, Peggy Lewis, to TV Guide this way:

My character is really nosy and very much in your face, one of those me, me, me types who talks a mile a minute. She runs into Siobhan, who is really Bridget, and has no idea why Siobhan doesn't recognize her. They have this very fun encounter in an elevator. Then my character sees "Siobhan" going into a meeting with a divorce attorney and can't wait to tell her husband.

Stafford was Taffeta Munro, corporate vampire slayer, in the 2003 film VAMPIRES ANONYMOUS, and is Phyllis Summers on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS.

    • JULIETS (Zoey Deutch / Caitlin Custer)

Zoey Deutch on top of Brian Borello in Episode One of RINGER Caitlin Custer as Juliet, stepdaughter of Siobhan

The part of Juliet was recast before the series aired Caitlin Custer was replaced by Zoey Deutch. In the original trailer there was a fleeting glimpse of Caitlin Custer as Juliet. That footage was removed from subsequent trailers and the scenes reshot for episode one of the show.

"Our writers room has white boards on three of its four walls. Two walls continue a kind of chart that tracks what happens to each character in each episode. As the season has progressed, of course, those boards got more and more crammed with information.
